And in the early part of 2009, they finally come up with a final review. Their first project is the 250 million euro investment fund. This fund will help create over 100,000 jobs in Africa. The limit access to investment is finally resolved. The FISEA fund, as launched by President Sarkozy of Cape Town, is just one of the realizations of the initiative to promote all out development in Africa.

The 250 million euro fund is held by Agence Fran?aise de D?veloppement (AFD) and managed by PROPARCO, its private sector investment arm. Fifty percent of the project financed by FISEA will be about taking equity stakes in investment funds. The other half will be for the direct equity investments in businesses. The fund is usable to support businesses in the implementation and supervision of their projects. It will target more unstable and post-crisis regions, small-scale investments and traditionally neglected sectors (agriculture, microfinance, new energies, health, education?). In order for a venture to have an impact on the African economy, it must be financially profitable. Examples are investments on the agricultural production in West Africa, microfinance in Central Africa and SME financing in Southern Africa.

By giving more access to investment funds for investors, there is more room for growth. Africa will prosper because of more companies and employment. This is what FISEA really aims. They are promoting growth by giving businesses access to equity capital and helping them build their capacities. Businessmen can now secure a life for their business. FISEA will provide additional tool for traditional private funds. There will be rooms for growth for both business in Africa and the African economy.

Abstract

BACKGROUND: Studies investigating the effects of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) in infant formula on language development yield conflicting results. No study to date has investigated the effects of DHA in infant formula on school readiness. AIM: To determine the effects of different dietary concentrations of DHA provided during the first 12months of life on language development and school readiness. DESIGN: This was a double-masked, randomized, controlled, prospective trial. A total of 182 infants were enrolled at 1-9days of age and assigned randomly to receive infant formula with one of four levels of DHA: control (0% DHA), 0.32% DHA, 0.64% DHA, or 0.96% DHA. All formulas with DHA also contained 0.64% arachidonic acid. One hundred forty-one children completed the 12-month feeding trial and were eligible for this study. Consent was obtained from 131 participants. School readiness was assessed at 2.5years using the Bracken Basic Concept Scale-Revised (BBCS-R) and receptive vocabulary was assessed at 2 and 3.5years using the Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test-Third Edition (PPVT-III). RESULTS: There were no diet group differences on any of the BBCS-R subscales. On the PPVT-III, the control group had higher raw scores and standard scores than both the 0.32% and 0.96% groups at 2years of age. These differences were not evident at 3.5years. CONCLUSIONS: Dietary DHA during the first year of life did not enhance school readiness or language development. Children who consumed infant formula with 0.32% and 0.96% DHA showed lower receptive vocabulary scores than controls at 2 but not 3.5years of age.

I hear from clients that pasta is a diet no-no, but it doesn't have to be. I don't believe in giving up the foods you enjoy, but enjoying them in a healthier and portion controlled manner. By adding a bit more veg, reducing the cheese, choosing lean meats - this can be a great main dish to serve.?Serving it with a fresh garden salad can make this a simple meal everyone can enjoy (even the kids!).?No one has to know you've lighten-up a hearty dish like this one! Cook Time: < 35 minutes
Prep Time: < 10 minutes
Serves: 9


Ingredients:

• 1 lb of whole wheat penne pasta
• 6 cups of plain organic tomato sauce?
• 2 tbsp dried Italian seasoning
• salt and pepper to taste
• 1 tsp olive oil
• 1 large onion, diced
• 4 cloves of garlic, minced
• 8oz of baby bella mushrooms, sliced
• 1 cup of frozen chopped spinach
• 1 lb of grass-fed lean ground beef
• 2 hot?Italian?turkey sausages, remove from casing
• 1 cup of part skim ricotta
• 1/3 cup whole wheat panko breadcrumbs
• 1-2 tbsp fresh parsley, minced
• 1oz fresh Parmigiano Reggiano, grated
• olive oil spray

In a large stock pot, cook the penne in salted water, until almost completely cooked (make sure to not over cook). Drain the pasta and set aside in a side bowl.


In a medium pot add the tomato sauce and Italian seasoning and bring to almost a boil. Cover, lower heat and allow to simmer while everything is cooking. Add salt and pepper if you'd like. This sauce should simmer about 10 minutes or longer.?


As the pasta and sauce is cooking, heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and the garlic and allow to saute for about 4-5 minutes.?




Then add the mushrooms, spinach and salt and pepper to taste. Allow the mixture to cook for 4-5 more minutes. Remove from the stove and set it aside on a side plate. Wipe down the skillet.


In the same skillet, add the ground beef and turkey sausage. Crumble and brown until completely cooked through (about 10 minutes).



Then in the large stock pot you used to cook the pasta, add the pasta back in, mushroom mixture, cooked ground meat, tomato sauce and the ricotta cheese. Stir everything together well. Make sure to coat the pasta well with the sauce.?




In a 13 x 9 pan, pour the pasta mixture in and spread out evenly. Sprinkle the bread crumbs, parsley and cheese over top. Spray lightly with a little olive oil spray over the top of the breadcrumbs.




Bake, uncovered for 20 minutes. Then place under the broiler for 1 minute or 2 to brown to the top. Allow the pasta to cool for about 5 minutes before serving.

LONDON (AP) ? With the finish line fast approaching, Roger Bannister has broken away from the pack and is now the bookmakers' clear front runner to light the Olympic cauldron later Friday.

British bookmaker William Hill has closed the market on Bannister after cutting odds from 6-1 to even money after a surge in betting on the first man to run the mile in less than 4 minutes.

"If he does win, an awful lot of punters will be running ... down to their betting shops to pick up their winnings," William Hill spokesman Richard Thomas said Friday.

The bookmaker said 98 percent of all bets placed with William Hill on Thursday on who will light the flame at the opening ceremony were for Bannister.

Steve Redgrave, Daley Thompson, Kelly Holmes and former England captain David Beckham are also in the running to light the flame.

Until Thursday, it was Redgrave, a five-time Olympic champion, who had always been the favorite to light the cauldron since the market was opened seven years ago, according to William Hill.

Bannister was 33-1 only a few weeks ago.

"It suggests people have an inkling," said Joe Crilly, another William Hill spokesman. "But at the same stage, the IOC and LOCOG (local organizing committee) have kept everything quiet that they wanted to keep quiet."

Rival British bookmaker Ladbrokes was still taking bets on who would light the cauldron and had Bannister and Redgrave as co-favorites at 6-4.

Queen Elizabeth II was 4-1, Beckham was 7-1, and Thompson and Holmes were 10-1. James Bond, or someone playing the role of the fictional British secret agent, was 50-1 with Ladbrokes.

Who lights the cauldron at the opening ceremony and the way it is lit is a closely guarded secret at the Olympics.

At the 1992 Barcelona Games, an archer shot a flaming arrow over the top of the cauldron to light it. Muhammad Ali lit the flame in Atlanta in 1996, while 400-meter runner Cathy Freeman stood in the middle of a pool at the Sydney Games in 2000 as flames surrounded her.

In Beijing four years ago, gymnast Li Ning lit the cauldron while suspended by wires near the roof of the Olympic Stadium.
