As President Obama prepares to take the stage on the final night of the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C., his campaign spokesman, Ben LaBolt, gave ABC News? Amy Walter and Rick Klein something of a preview of the speech.
?It?s gonna be a roadmap to restore economic security for the middle class and to create good-paying, sustainable jobs for the middle class,? LaBolt said today on ABC News/Yahoo News Convention Live Stream. ?Those are the questions that voters out there want to hear the answers to. ? The president is going to put forward a forward-looking vision tonight: his agenda to restore economic security for the middle class.?
LaBolt also talked about Vice President Joe Biden, who?s been shut out of top billing throughout the convention in favor of a smaller speech tonight before Obama takes the spotlight. He said he?s not concerned that their two speeches will run back-to-back.
?It?s important that you hear from the vice president about the tough decisions that the president made when the politics weren?t always good in the short term, but he thought he was doing the right thing for the country,?then hear the president?s forward-looking vision for how we restore economic security for the middle class,? LaBolt said.
?I think there will be millions and millions of viewers around the country,? he added. ?We?re not concerned about reaching the American people. I think they?ll see the vice president?s speech tonight.?
