Interview With Bhaskar Thakur, Founder ... - Business 2 Community

Every day as I wake up in the morning, the first thing I do is check my online activities. The whole day I am doing some or the other activity on the internet via various devices and before going to bed I do the same. But what if tomorrow I don?t wake up and I am no more in this world. My digital life that is scattered everywhere on the internet is not known to anyone, not even to my family.

Isn?t that a problem that needs to be addressed?

WorldWithoutMe.com, a social network after your death is an answer to this problem. A social network that we might be quite hesitant to be part of but then lets accept it death is inevitable. So like we have insurance policies, we need to secure our digital life too.

Bhaskar Thakur, a serial entrepreneur is the brain behind ?World Without Me? and was also quite happy to be my guest at Conversations. Bhaskar spoke at length on the following areas:

1. How he started his journey from Pune and how WorldWithoutMe.com came into existence.

2. He stressed upon why the network is required in today?s life, challenges he faced while he was building this product and the market response for his startup. Bhaskar also shared that they are doing a small pivot whereby they will not target a large user base but a small section of targeted groups and expand gradually. As a product manager, he said one should not build the whole product and then throw it to the market but rather build a small feature and throw in the market to get a feel about user adoption.

3. At the same time, he also focused on the cool and important features of the product. Security has been the biggest USP for his product and the network is owned by the user. This allows the user to download all his secured data at any given point of time. Apart from that, Inheritance is one more feature that has excited me to give the product a try.

4. Finally, he had a few humble words of advice for entrepreneurs who are building or who wish to build products ? go out and start working, don?t bother about making mistakes because the more you think about going wrong, you are just losing on time.

It was inspiring to listen to Bhaskar, who jumped into the startup field straight after college. I hope you also find it inspiring.
