Today on Google's home page is a special Google logo, aka Google Doodle for the 88th birthday of Edward Gorey. Edward Gorey was a well known and respected writer, illustrator and poet known for the works named The Gashlycrumb Tinies, The Doubtful Guest, Animation introducing Mystery! on PBS.
His work was a goth style and he was mostly self-taught, with very little schooling. He was never married and wasn't much into relationships.
He was born 88 years ago on February 22, 1925 in Chicago and died at the age of 75 on April 15, 2000 in Cape Cod Hospital, Hyannis, Massachusetts.
The Google logo is one of the widest logos I've seen from Google ever, measuring 818 pixels wide. It is an obvious representation of his illustration and story telling style.
