When it comes to skin cancer detection, health experts say there?s no app for that. ?Smartphone applications that claim to help determine whether a skin lesion is cancerous by reviewing a picture are inaccurate.
Researchers at the University of Pittsburgh found, out of four apps tested, at least 30% of melanomas were classified as ?unconcerning.? ?App disclaimers say they should be used for educational purposes, not to diagnose skin cancer.
