It?s called PACE and it stands for precious metals, agriculture, commodities and energy and it?s an investment strategy that economist, columnist, radio host and international conference speaker Jerry Robinson says on his ?Follow the Money Weekly? program is a path to success.
?Back in 2005, I began putting together an investment portfolio of stocks and exchange-traded funds that I believed would outperform amid the impending economic calamity caused by too much government spending and reckless monetary policies,? he said.
?The result turned out to be more than just a handful of stocks. It became an entire investing philosophy. I called this investing philosophy: P.A.C.E.,? he said. Soon he began sharing the idea with family and friends.
?After several years of outperforming the overall markets, I enlisted the help of Certified Financial Planner Jay Peroni to help me outperform the market even more. So far, Jay and I have boiled the P.A.C.E. investment portfolio down to what I believe are the 20 best stocks in each of these categories. In 2012, we added a fifth component to the P.A.C.E. portfolio: globally diversified dividend paying stocks.?
He said right now the portfolio is 20 percent in each of those categories.
He said in 2012, the top precious metals stock pick was up more than 25 percent, the top ag pick was up more than 56 percent, commodities 14 percent, energy 30 percent and dividend stock 22 percent.
?When the dust settled on 2012, the P.A.C.E. Investment Portfolio was up over 18 percent for the year. This was better than the 15.89 percent return for the S&P 500 Index in 2012!? Robinson said.
Tom Cloud also comes on the program to update the current precious metals market, and Peroni then follows up with one of his favorite ways to cash in on the shale gas revolution taking place in America today.
Then John Bears is on to discuss annuities and life insurance ? retirement income that lasts a lifetime.
Also on the podcast is an interview with Ann Logue, author of ?Emerging Markets for Dummies,? who shares her thoughts on the global economy, her favorite emerging markets for 2013, her opinion of the hedge fund industry, and some tips for stock traders.
Podcast is 1:08:11.
